There's A Charlie Brown In Everyone Of Us
I know it's been a while since I've posted anything , but I've been stressed out , in pretty severe pain and of the 11th of August we have temporary guardianship of our 2 week old grand daughter . So Besides the other shit it's been lack of sleep and dealing with multiple people , from social workers , C.P.S. and and other workers helping us to file for full guardianship and helping us to get everything else together for our grand daughter . So anyways onto some music . This was taken from Last.fm SKEEZICKS was started by a bunch of friends in the small south German town of Nagold - one of the few places in Germany at that point were hardcore-bands were playing regularly… all of us were involved in putting on those shows at the local youth-center, and we felt like it was about time doing our own thing as well… That was in 1984, and SKEEZICKS were, along with bands like SPERMBIRDS or HOSTAGES OF AYATOLLAH, one of first German bands playing this "US-influenced hardcore" - we ourselves were strongly influenced by NEGATIVE APPORACH and early DC-bands like MINOR THREAT, FAITH and VOID!
In 1985 we recorded our first 7" in Amsterdam (since we became friends with the Dutch bands FRITES MODERN, INDIREKT and GEPOPEL, which also had played and stayed in Nagold a few times…) and from that point on we played a lot of shows, not only Germany, but also in Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and Denmark. After various appearances on compilations, we finally recorded our full LP in 1987 - and shortly after, the band split up due to personal differences… (Or as one of our songs says "Nothing Lasts Forever".)
In 1990 two of the members, me (Armin) and drummer Andy played in the band HAPPY EVER AFTER, which lasted only for about one year, while singer Jason Honea (of SOCIAL UNREST) was staying in Germany - and after that all of our "musical careers" ended… with one exception: we played a one-time-reunion show sometime the late 90s (can't remember exactly when?), which was helluva fun, with hundreds of people from all over showing up, the place being incredibly overcrowded, the whole audience chanting and shouting our songs… but it was nearly impossible to play our instruments, with tons of kids on stage - but still fucking LOST&FOUND released a poor soundboard-recording (with almost no guitars!) as a "Live LP" (and it sucks completely! never buy it if you see it!). All of the "real" SKEEZICKS recordings (except for a few compilation-tracks of which the original tapes got lost…), as well as all of the HAPPY EVER AFTER recordings, are compiled on the CD released on 625 PRODUCTIONS!
So I have here for you is 7 different recordings , 2 which are live 1985 - We Make Noise... Demo Don't have a location of gig 1986 - Live 03/07/1986 1986 - There's A Charlie Brown In Everyone Of Us1987 - Live Tielt , Bel. 02/05/1987 1987 - Selling Out
