L.A. Invades Bakersfield

Last night was a hell of a night with some excellent bands here from Bakersfield with Dry Sockets bringing some bands with them from the LA. area to a new venue located on the east 19th Street and put on by 661 All Inclusive Entertainment . we got there hella early around 5: 30 - 6 PM and there were not many people there yet but by about 7:30 it was filling up with people and the 1st  band IRON SIGHT hit the stage and sounded tighter and stronger then I seen them last time (well that was almost a year ago) .                                                                                                            Next up was GAHD! who was intense and the singer Mario was stalking around in front of the stage as if a predator was looking for it's next kill , straight up dirty crust but clean and on a few ocassions slowed it down to some sludgey shit .  this is another band i've only seen once before but was impressed by them and have been wanting to see them again and damn they blew me away once again . Hope they record soon and I know the bassist FRODO was telling me they are hoping that they can get someone to help them release a 7" sometime soon .            As the next band FLESH TRADE was getting their gear set up Noelia had Rome come up front and everyone sang Happy Birthday to her .

So up next we FLESH TRADE they had some minor issues with the bass but once that got situated they let loose with some distorted out noise which I would compare to bands like Atrocious Madness or Cluster Bomb Unit .                                                                         Next up was DRY SOCKETS from Long Beach but the singer Adam is a Bako kid , as usual they played their style of Punk and Oi . Haven't seen them since they last played at The Mint last Christmas for a benefit toy drive and they played all the songs they did then . Adam did a big shout out to our lost brothers "The Last Walk" was dedicated to our friend Jordie who unfortunately took his own last walk , "Big Rich" like the song title was dedicated in memory to our brother Big Rich who passed away , and the song "19th Street" is all about the punks and skins who hung out there .                                                                                                                                     Up next was N8NoFace , one person and some pre recoded music but damn he was all over the stage and energetic , never heard of him before but would't mind hearing more from him .                                                                                                                                 Up last was DEAD CITY  from HelL.A. , another band I had heard of but didnt know much about them before this . Hardcore from the streets and their songs felt like they were born in a middle of a gang war , very in your face with a like us or FUCK OFF attitude , I liked them a lot  and their songs were strong, powerful and you can tell that they don't sing songs like so many wannabe gangsta rappers , but truthful , hate for society , born and bled from the streets .                                                                                                   It was surprising that it all seemed to flow with no bullshit or problems but nope  there was a fight between the promoter and a couple of guys from L.A. , not to sure exactly what it was all about but it happened right behind me and all I really caught was something about fireworks and fire in the crowd , well push came to shove and boom (in the last video of DEAD CITY at the 3:18 mark is when the fight start and in the video you see a cymbal stand fly my head) .   Overall it was a hell of a night great bands , bunch of old faces and new , got introduced to some people and 1 guy Joseph Michael Ruiz handed me a photozine he did full of skating , people , bands ( pic of GAHD! and Adam Ant giving a haircut in this one) Cool little photo zine . And thank you for the vendors the  for the food , drinks , DANG LIES , and another vendor who I forgot the name but had some skinhead merch , and there was a vendor handing out Narcan if it was needed .       I'm exhausted and fucking hurting from my medical problems , call me lazy or fucking whatever for not posting all the individual videos , but thats a hell of a lot so here's the link to the L.A. Invades Bakersfield youtube playlist .  https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb6UT7UjKdYexRlaFDs6xVqWBv_4t3D_D
Well Fuck it here's 1 video of each band

fight starts at 3:18

And here's a bunch of pics from the night along with pics I took ,and as usual I stole a whole bunch of pics from Keri Bryson , she's always taking pics of the bands and crowds .  But this is the last sight me and Keri seen as we were leaving for the night
