The Soulsteppers
So all my skinhead friends will like this , from the armpit of California (Bakersfield) we have some two-tone soul/reggae skinhead music that takes influences of where the TRUE skinhead music originated from . I seen these guys quite a few different time and hung out with them at the B Street apartment , downtown at Jerry's Pizza ( which pretty much was the place that everyone hung out at ) a record store on 19th Street ran by Jake Chavez ( I don't remember the name of it , but bands also practiced upstairs ) . They played with many different bands and one of the funnest and weirdest band lineup was The Soulsteppers played a hardcore show at Jerry's Pizza and they played (i think i remember ) right before The Prolapse Nation ( Bako's own powerviolence/noise band) . Here I Have for only 2 recordings , I have their Soul Step/Last Laugh ep but not in mp3 file form .
