With Liberty Interview

 

So this is different for me I usually write out everything for the interview and such , but this time I did an audio interview with WITH LIBERTY which I have never done before and didn't know what to expect or how it would come out . Live @ The Trap 03/24/2023 in Oildale , Ca

 Went to a show Friday night in of all places in Oildale , California at a place called The Trap which to find out that bands have played there before and it was my first time going there , i got there about there about 6:50 since the flyer said 7 pm but I didn't know I'm use to Jerry's Pizza show times , flyer says 7 and bands usually don't start for another hour or so . I see a few people I know so we talk about different stuff and next thing I know I see David from Latest Regret walking down the sidewalk with his bass amp on a dolly to set up for the show since they were on first . The Trap is kinda a small place but cozy and the atmosphere was relaxed but again since it's in The Dale (Oildale) must people usually associate it with just white trash racists hanging out in a honky tonk bar or doing meth outside in the alley , the crowd was older (well it was a bar show) alot of them were around my age (I'm 53) and some youngsters . I seen no bullshit or attitudes being thrown around so it was a pretty chill and relaxed place .                                                                               

  LATEST REGRET (from Bakersfield) finally started playing their skatepunk sound and like most openining bands the crowd is usually just standing around but you know what to expect from them and that is a good time drinking and dancing the night away . I've seen them a couple times before and these guys are always fun . The band consists of Brandon - vocals , Matty - guitar , David - bass and Ben on drums . Next up was CARRY THE 9 from Ventura , California (just south of my hometown Ojai) who played their Skate Rock styled music with influences from such bands as Face To Face , Lagwagon , Strung Out , Good Riddance , etc , you get the idea of what they sound like . The 805 has so many bands with so many different styles you could hear at 1 show , so to hear these guys play reminded me of going to shows at  The Skate Palace , the Oxnard Community Center , The Red Barn in Isla Vista . The band is Kevin - vocals , Sean - drums & vocals , Jose -bass and "let's Go" , jeremy - guitar & vocals . Up next from Paso Robles , California was DIVISION 13 playing their 80's and 90's style punk rock , pretty much the same style as Carry The 9 ,  but still exciting and fun , I love hearing new bands and being excited at how good they were and they were one of them . The band is  Beau , Chris , James , Jake and Billy and they are influence by since bands as Bad relion, Face To Face , Strung Out and Rise Against . Up last another local Bako band THE M & M KIDS , sorry wrong band I meant WITH LIBERTY with their hardcore work out punk tunes , I've only seen them a couple times but with some funny witty commentary and with the singer/guitarist  running around into the back of the crowd and wherever he can get too , Fitbit needs to sponser him for all the miles he can do in a small building . These guys and gal are always a blast to go see The band consists of M6 - guitar and vocals , Joey - bass and vocals , Chuey - drums (not sure if I spelt his name right , sorry) and their special guest singer Cheyenne .
