Like my little play on words , been wanting to do another post so this is for an upcoming gig here in Bakersfield , California with a band from the U.K. , who I never have gotten to see . The first time would have been at La Casa De La Raza in Santa Barbara in 85 , but the few people i knew had already left and the last time was at The Conservatory in Oklahoma City 13 years ago , my wife was at work and we had a baby to take care of , and the many times in between those years .
But I got to see one of the bands that the singer was in at The Red Barn in Isla Vista (Santa Barbara) in 91 and it was absolutely amazing , what was even nicer was that I was talking to Jared Distortion about Subhumans after I had posted the flyer on the YAGE PUNK COLLECTIVE on facebook and . I told him about never seeing Subhumans but that I've seen CITIZEN FISH before but I couldn't find the flyer , so I reached out out to Bluurg Records about the show and the flyer and a couple days later DICK LUCAS responded back about the show , how much fun it was and it was absolutely a free show and he even sent me a pic of the flyer .
DICK-vox , BRUCE- guitar/vox , PHIL- bass (1983-present , GRANT-bass 1980-1983) , TROTSKY- drums CULTURE SHOCK 1986-1989 DICK-vox , NIGE-guitar , PAUL-bass - later JASPER , BILL-drums SUBHUMANS and CULTURE SHOCK formed in Warminster Wiltshire . CITIZEN FISH was spawned in Bath U.K. . This is gonna be a great show besides finally seeing SUBHUMANS , the special guests are GENERACION SUICIDA . I haven't seen them play for a while , well a long while , I seen them play when Los Crudos played here about 11 years ago and a few of their records were put out by Going Underground Records . CULTURE SHOCK CITIZEN FISH I seen them a month earlier in Isla Vista (Santa Barbara) SUBHUMANS So now onto some music , say I'm lazy or whatever but it's taken my 3 plus weeks to finally finish this post . i'm still dealing with some severe depression , in constant pain and it's been getting worse in my legs and lower back and now there are times when I can barely move my left arm . to make things worse is that it is hard to pick up and play with my grand daughter (who we have had guardianship of since she was 3 days old and she is now 9 months old) so it can make my depression even worse , but instead I deal through the pain even though I know it's gonna be worse , to spend time with and hold my grand daughter but I do it anyways . And me and my daughter and planning on building some shelfs for her room very soon , in other words another painful day . But It is so worth it spending time with my daughter and grand daughter . Well enough rambling on about my problems and on to some music . Most of them have lots of recordings in them (studio and live recordings) so each band will be split with links to live and studio recordings (it's alot) . So I hope you all enjoy the tunes , and if you happen to have some recordings that I do not have , I'd love to add them . So off we go .
